LABORATORY SCALE ROTARY DRUM VACUUM FILTER

The laboratory scale rotary drum vacuum filter (RDVF) has a filtration area of 0.1m² and is often used as a preliminary step to pilot equipment trials. This unit is, in essence, a scaled down version of the larger units. It is often used to ascertain if this type of equipment is suitable for any given application but can also help determine choice of filter medium and the filtration properties of a suspension. The equipment offers the advantage of an easily interchangeable discharge system so that different configurations can be trialed if required. It is supplied with a control panel for modifying drum and agitator speeds and, when using a precoat discharge, the knife advance rate. A separate skid mounted feed tank, mixer and feed pump is included with the RDVF. The unit is easy to assemble and we can provide full detailed instructions including photographs at the point of hire. We include filter cloths from our extensive range of fabrics.

PILOT SCALE ROTARY DRUM VACUUM FILTER

The pilot scale RDVFs have a nominal 0.9m² filtration area and are robust and reliable industrial machines for installation directly into a process plant. The filters, one with a scraper knife discharge system and the other with a precoat knife discharge system, include ancillary skids containing the filtrate receiver, filtrate pump, vacuum pump and blower. These filters are ideal for larger test programmes under actual manufacturing conditions. We can provide filter media from our extensive range and advise on this if required.
